Just a few frequently asked questions I get:
Where are you located?
I live in Blue, Texas. I bet you probably don't know where that is. It's a little blip on the map between Elgin & Lexington, Texas. I do most of my sessions here at our ranch. I have several spots around the property with a mix of backgrounds like tree covered roads, low climbing trees for the kids, that whispy glowy grass that everyone loves, trucks and tractors, tin walls, gardens, cows, chickens, you name it. Additional locations in other towns can also be arranged for an additional cost depending on distance.
What is your turn around time for editing photos?
My typical turn around time is 1 week for mini sessions and 2 weeks for 1 hour and newborn sessions. If you need your photos faster I can expedite your order for an extra fee.
Can I book a mini session anytime?
- Mini sessions are only held during certain times of the year, with special set themes on set days and times. These are usually 15 minute sessions that I hold back to back in one location in order to maximize our time.
What kind of mini sessions do you offer?
My most popular mini sessions are the Bluebonnet Mini Sessions in the spring. I also offer fun themed sessions around holidays like Valentines, Mother's Day, Father's Day, 4th of July, and Fall & Christmas Minis.
How far in advance should we book our session?
This depends on the time of year, but a good time frame would be about a month in advance. My busiest seasons, like Bluebonnet and Christmas, I recommend getting on the schedule about 2 months in advance, especially for weekend sessions.
What time of day is best to shoot in?
The best time of day to schedule a session would be about an hour before sunset. In the winter this is pretty early, but in the summer we can schedule later in the day since it's lighter outside later. The last hour before sunset is known as the "golden hour". The setting sun provides a nice flattering light for everyone and on some lucky evenings a beautiful sunset glow. Morning sessions, about an hour to two hours after sunrise are also an ideal time since the sun light is not too harsh.
Is there a deposit required to reserve my session?
- Yes, there is a 50% non-refundable or transferable retainer fee required at the time of booking to reserve your session date and time. The remaining 50% is due at the time of the session.
What is your editing style?
My editing style is pretty natural but it does tend to change with the seasons or the mood of the photos I am editing. A spring Mommy & Me session will have a lighter more airy feel, whereas Fall photos I tend to edit a little bolder and warmer to reflect those rich colors of the season.
